Otto Bock HealthCare Launches Not One But Three Specialized Liners

5/15/2007

Otto Bock Healthcare announces the launch of three new Liners, designed to meet the unique needs of various clients – Simplicity Liner, Copolymer Liner and SiliconGel Liner. “Each of these products takes its own approach to various clients' challenges - they all share a common objective of allowing practitioners to precisely tailor prosthetic solutions to provide the utmost in both comfort and mobility.” Natalie Jones Market Manager – Technical Orthopedics.

The first of these products is the Simplicity Tapered Liner (6Y522/523), a non-locking polyurethane liner with the added benefit of a tapered wall. The liner’s thin-walled design is also easy to deflect, and helps to improve knee flexion. Aimed at amputees who maintain low to high activity levels, the liner offers excellent protection against socket forces, while its material flow characteristics help to maintain an intimate and comfortable fit.

The Copolymer Liner (6Y90/91/92) provides yet another option to practitioners, through its innovative design that can be used together with a sealing sleeve and valve. Suitable for amputees who engage in low to moderate activity levels, the Copolymer Liner is available with or without a distal attachment. It is constructed of soft and pliable elastomer gel, and is also thermoformable for a comfortable, precisely fitted shape.

Transtibial amputees now have their own unique option in the form of the SiliconGel Liner. This revolutionary product is available as both the 6Y70 Locking Liner, and the 6Y71 Non-Locking Liner with Cap. Either way, patients benefit from advanced design features that enhance mobility without sacrificing comfort – a new distal finger matrix to reduce pistoning, and a new outer cover to for easy donning and doffing.
