OTTO BOCK HEALTHCARE CANADA INTRODUCES TRIAS FOOT

5/15/2006

OAKVILLE, Ontario – (May 15, 2006) – Otto Bock HealthCare Canada Ltd. today announced the launch of Trias, the latest innovation in prosthetic feet. The Trias delivers increased flexibility to users by capturing the motion and feel of a real foot.

With a lightweight carbon construction, Trias has unique conjoint dual spring elements that acts more like a natural ankle joint. This configuration allows for better heel shock absorption, rollover and energy efficiency for the wearer. In addition, Trias also reduces excessive forces on the contralateral leg to make wearing more comfortable.

“When we design prosthetics like the Trias, Otto Bock focuses on the needs of the amputees and builds products that expand their range of activities rather than limit them,” says Mark Agro Vice President, Otto Bock Canada. “Trias is meant to take on uneven terrain so wearers can have more freedom to do what they want.”

Trias also provides amputees with the option of a natural-looking cosmetic footshell to cover the prosthetic.
